If you're procrastinating and putting off your big goal because you want it to be perfect, that's just another version of an excuse. That might sound harsh, but it’s something I wish I would’ve heard when I was sitting in a lot of resistance. I’ve realized that it’s better to do whatever it takes to get the job done, and then learn on the other side. If you have to do more research and drag out your launch, it means you probably shouldn't be teaching it because you haven’t lived it yet. I promise that it’s better to condense your timeline, make yourself do it, and get your idea out there ASAP.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Reflecting on times when I was struggling with my inner perfectionist and hesitant to release my work
  • How to know when you’re releasing the right content
  • My challenge to everyone when it comes to getting projects done
  • What you’ll learn in our new Be Online course

Lauren and I are celebrating a huge business milestone and reflecting on the crazy process of redesigning my personal website and the Lite Pink website. We discuss what we learned about ourselves when we were up against tight deadlines and share how we stayed focused when it felt like there were a million things going on at once.

We also chat about a question that a listener sent in about how I phased out previous businesses before launching Lite Pink. After what Chris and I went through in the ‘08/’09 recession, I will always preach having multiple streams of income and getting your bank account to a place that feels good before going all-in on your big dream. I share some creative ways that I’ve been able to do that and also give advice about monetizing your online influence.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • The best way to reset your workday and limit distractions
  • How I decided to let go of certain income streams
  • My top recommendation to people who want to fully commit to their big idea
  • How to leverage your online presence to be an affiliate or do ads, specifically for digital products

Chris and I were coaching separate groups recently, and when we came together to talk about how the sessions went, we realized a lot of entrepreneurs are facing four similar challenges. We’ve noticed that many business owners are up against an audience problem, they’re not providing value to their audience, their content is stale, or they’re comparing their chapter one effort to someone else’s chapter nine results. It’s so powerful to hear the truth and bring some self awareness around what’s really holding you back, and we hope that this conversation can shine a light on how you can reach your true potential.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Growing your audience in accordance with the size of your goals
  • Examples of how we add value to our audience before we ask them for anything in return
  • What we notice about our social media numbers when we put out original, fun content
  • Our perspective on healthy comparison
  • The number one move that helps jumpstart your growth

I’m joined by Jenna Kutcher, author of the new book How Are You Really, and host of The Goal Digger Podcast. Jenna’s book is a guided journey through asking yourself how you really are, who you really are, and what kind of life you really want. Jenna and I discuss how to become more aligned with your true purpose, understand who you are as you’re developing, and show up as your whole self in everything that you do.

I’ve always admired how fierce Jenna is with her boundaries and how she protects her peace in such a loving way. We dive into how she copes with people pushing back on her limits and she shares her incredible template that has allowed her to say ‘no’ in a kind, gracious way. We talk about the concept of having a ‘Year of Yes’ and Jenna offers up a unique and inspiring spin on the idea. Tune in to hear our conversation about celebrating your ambitions, enjoying the journey to success, and so much more.

  • The amazing abundance that Jenna experienced when she cut her workload (and paycheck) in half

One of the most common questions that I get from listeners who are trying to build their platform is how to become valuable enough so that people with more influence actually want to return the favor or collaborate. I’m not going to lie, it requires you going the extra mile and finding creative ways to stand out from the crowd, but I promise that the time and energy you put in will pay off. There are three main things that people want when they’re looking for an equal energy exchange, and in today’s episode, I break down what those are, plus a couple of bonus ones. I also share my top tips for how to approach communication with people you want to collab with and some of my personal experiences with getting on someone’s radar.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Why you shouldn’t take it personally if you don’t get the response you want from someone you want to connect with
  • Understanding perceived value
  • What it means to value stack, and how you can implement that into your life
  • My advice for posting Reels and TikToks
  • Examples of experiences, education, and things that you can offer to someone

What do you feel like is totally out of reach for you, and why? Maybe it’s hosting an event, launching a product, or adding on another service to your line up, but regardless of what arena you’re in, my number one piece of advice is to start small and scale from there. Lauren and I share examples of what it looks like to fine tune your idea and make it small enough so that you can get it off the ground. We discuss the importance of tapping into your message, audience, and marketing, and finding a through line that lets you show up as your authentic self in everything that you do. Plus, we recap what’s been going on with Lite Pink and our lives outside of work recently!

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Different avenues to reach your goals without taking huge risks
  • How to get people interested in your idea
  • Why we love collaborating with other people and small, local businesses
  • What a white-label product is and why you should look into it if want to get into the products-based business space
  • The three most important questions to ask yourself before you launch your business

The human experience, especially as an entrepreneur, can feel like a never-ending roller coaster. I recently had a day where I was feeling super low and in my head about the direction of my life, but I was able to snap out of it by talking to our new neighbors and sharing my business experience. Chris and I have realized that we’re happiest when we’re living our purpose, which for us means building something, working hard, and creating meaningful experiences with people that we love. By getting out of my own world and helping uplift someone else, I inevitably feel better and start climbing to the top again.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Learning how to integrate more enjoyment along with work
  • What it feels like when we spiral and we’re in this temporary false reality
  • The immediate mood shift that happens when you’re of service to someone else
  • Details about the launch of our new course

Fear is the number one reason why people don’t take the first step to pursue their calling. For some, it's fear of failure or being judged, and for others, it looks like perfectionism or imposter syndrome. The list could go on forever, but the truth is, the things that you think are going to break you are the same things that are going to make you. Challenges come up to test our strength and dedication to our dream, and what you do in those moments reveal you who you really are. There’s so much knowledge, joy, and success on the other side of those hard times, but are you willing to put in the work to make it there? I share how I handled a couple of mindset challenges that came at me this week and ways to reframe your perspective about hardship and pain.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • How fear shows up in fancy disguises
  • Practicing showing up as the person that you want to be
  • How my relationship with challenge and pain has changed
  • Extracting lessons and silver linings from hard situations

Chris joins me today on the show, along with Mark Sullivan and Josh Zieglowsky of ERC Specialists, a specialty payroll company exclusively dedicated to understanding and maximizing the CARES Act Employee Retention Credit (ERC) for U.S. businesses affected negatively by COVID-19. You’ve heard about PPP and EIDL, but this is actually a refund for the W2 wages that you paid as an employer. Mark and Josh explain what this tax credit is all about, who qualifies for it, and why your CPA hasn’t told you about this yet. They also break down what you can expect from their services and highlight why this program is one of the few win-win-win situations out there.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • The types of businesses that qualify for ERC
  • What this refund can do for your company
  • What inspired Mark and Josh to start ERC Specialists
  • Addressing fear points and frequently asked questions

Jun 14, 2022

We’ve finally had some time to really reflect about our vacation to the Amalfi Coast and want to share some of our biggest takeaways from the trip. Our friend Rob Murgatroyd curated so many beautiful experiences as part of his Work Hard Play Hard Mastermind and we were able to really soak up the Italian culture, art, food, and fashion. We talk about getting clarity on how we’re going to balance the joy and production containers of our lives, and our commitment to making time for new, enriching experiences in our week.

We learned about the Italian saying “Dolce Far Niente,” which means the sweetness of doing nothing, observing beauty, and enjoying life in the moment. Chris and I want to take time to be more present in our everyday lives and worry less about things that we don’t have control over. This trip proved to us that a vacation doesn't have to be just a moment in time一we can extend this sense of peace and wonder into our everyday lives.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Examples of how Italians value both form and function, and beauty for beauty’s sake
  • Why we’re cutting off work at 1PM on Fridays for the next few months
  • Applying deeper meaning to our beautiful life together and taking away the power that stress has
  • Finding magic in connection and conversation when business isn’t the main topic
  • The benefits of getting out of your environment and day-to-day comfort zone

  • The four questions that Tony Robbins came up with to help you reconnect with your purpose and create a plan for a regret-free life

We think it's important to put markers in your year and create memorable experiences for yourself, even if it’s something local. • Why things will never slow down unless you plan for them to slow down
  • Surrounding yourself with positive reinforcements to solidify your decisions

I’m joined by brand expert, educator, podcaster, and now author Julie Solomon. Julie’s book Get What You Want: How to Go From Unseen to Unstoppable is all about stepping into your power and cracking open so you can shine and fulfill your ultimate purpose. Julie and I discuss how to show up authentically online while still respecting your own boundaries, and learning how to share from a scar, not a wound. We’ve both done a lot of work to overcome limiting beliefs that we had about money, and Julie shares a really powerful story about how she worked through the deep shame that she had around her secret debt. Julie is also a pro at pitching and getting what she wants, so I ask her to break down exactly how she’s built that muscle and her advice about where to start.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • What to expect from her new book
  • Overcoming core ideas and belief systems that keep us stuck
  • Turning a troubling origin story into a superpower
  • The four most important questions to ask before you try to pitch yourself
  • Evaluating where you’re seeking validation

No matter what industry you’re in, you’re an energy dealer. And at the end of the day, everyone wants to feel energized. How are you making sure that you’re transferring those vibes out into the world? I don’t know about you, but I feel some resistance come up when I have a trip planned because I just think about all the work that I’m missing and my introverted side starts putting up walls. But, traveling makes me feel alive, enriches my life, and honestly, I find that getting out of my comfort zone makes me more interesting. I’m sharing why it’s crucial to shake up your routine and giving you some simple ways to make your life more interesting.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • The reasons why we continue to do new things and grow
  • Why business essentially boils down to energy
  • Trends in my social media engagement when I’m doing exciting things
  • Where to look for new adventures and opportunities (hint: they might be in your backyard!)

You know those seasons where you’re not seeing alot of results, not feeling super motivated, and everything just feels kind of monotonous? Even just reading that might make you want to run in the other direction, but those ebb periods of life are just as important as when you’re in a state of flow. Lauren and I discuss times when we’ve felt like we’re in a dormant season and how we’ve learned to trust the process and find comfort in the stillness. There are major lessons to be learned when things slow down and you’re challenged to find new containers and modalities for growth. Listen in to hear our conversation about embracing the ebbs of life.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Professional and personal periods where where we felt out of alignment with our goals
  • How to make the most out of your time when you’re not in a busy season
  • Checking in about small shifts that need to happen for you to get excited about your vision again
