In This Episode You Will Learn About:

  • Why flexibility matters
  • Where flexibility helped us
  • Where being rigid hurt us
  • How to be more flexible in life

Show Notes:

Flexibility creates opportunity. When good things pop up in life, you will only be able to say “yes” if you’ve been intentional about building flexibility into your life. And a lack of flexibility is only going to cost you opportunities. We’re going to show some examples of both in our life – as well as how you can build more flexibility into your own.

A few months ago, someone made an offer on our Scottsdale, Arizona home that was way higher than we thought it was worth – much more than we paid for it. And even though we had only been there a few months, we saw that it was a major opportunity to make a lot of money fast. That offer ultimately fell through, but it led to us putting our home on the market to see what happened. The flexibility to be OK with either outcome gave us an incredible opportunity.

On the other hand, an example of when a lack of flexibility robbed us of opportunity is when our friend Jim Kwik wanted to use my recording studio to record an interview with Tom, the founder of MySpace. But the studio was completely booked for the day and Jim said he was hoping to get Tom to do an interview on our show after his interview. He told us to “Start making room for the miracles.”

It’s important that you leave space in your calendar for things to show up, but this doesn’t mean to do nothing. You have to go out into the world to allow miracles to show up. Just don’t be so rigid that you aren’t willing to see those miracles for the opportunities that they are.

  • Using discomfort as a way to get better

Show Notes:

The past few weeks have taught me so much about working through imperfection. When you’re trying to balance travel and work, you have to abandon all thought of the perfect time or the perfect setting for what you want to do. It has been the biggest lesson in showing up imperfectly and still getting things done. I’m going to share how I’m working through those lessons and incorporating them into my life.

In This Episode You Will Learn About:

  • The importance of being present
  • Choosing to focus on the positive
  • Recognizing silver linings

Resources:

  • Text “PODCAST” to 310-496-8363 to get your questions answered on our Q&A segment or get coached on the show!

Show Notes:

Sometimes you have days that – from the outside in – seem terrible, but internally, we have the power to turn those days around. Our brains are wired to focus on the negative, but we can put our lives into perspective with one simple trick: acknowledge that this is life, and this may be as good as it gets. So buckle up and enjoy the moment.

Even on days that suck, you’d be surprised by the joy that can come from just being present in the moment. You don’t have to override sad or painful feelings, but if you acknowledge and accept them, and recognize what each moment has to offer, you can find the good in any situation.

Tell yourself that today may be as good as it gets. Stop comparing where you are against a future where things might get better or a past that you can’t reclaim. Today is all you have, and it may never get better, so focus on the silver lining because, as long as you’re alive, there’ll be one to be found.

If you try that phrase on for size, it will reframe everything for you, and you will find more joy every day.

Cindy Eckert is going to make you rich. She’s sold two businesses for more than $1.5 billion, so she knows a thing or two about building things from the ground up and making money in the process. Now, with her work in The Pinkubator, she helps women break barriers by investing in women founders to level the playing field and shatter the glass ceiling for good. We cover everything from building a billion dollar business to women’s sexual health (and everything in between). You’re going to want to hear this conversation.

Question Highlights:

  • How did your entrepreneurial journey get started?
  • How did you get interested in women’s pleasure?
  • What were the belief systems you had to break and unlearn to become the woman you are today?
  • What are some of the bad habits you’ve had to break along the way?
  • What skills do women need to build to be successful in business?

Guest Bio:

A self-made serial entrepreneur and vocal advocate for women, Cindy defies convention in her industry, in her companies, in her outcomes. Her work today, in The Pinkubator, continues to break barriers by investing in and mentoring other women to get to her same outcomes. She’s on a mission to make women really rich. You cannot miss Cindy. Everything she touches turns to PINK!

Over a distinguished 25-year career in healthcare, in only the last ten years, she has built and sold two businesses for more than $1.5B. First Slate Pharmaceuticals (which redefined long acting testosterone treatment for men), then Sprout Pharmaceuticals (which broke through with the first ever FDA-approved drug for low sexual desire in women – dubbed “female Viagra” by the media). After selling the company for $1 billion in 2015, she successfully fought to get the drug back and launch it on her own terms.

Cindy has made waves and her own success, creating mission driven companies that deliver big. Her results have become widely covered business success stories featured in major media outlets. She is most proud of helping others take command of their lives. The profoundly positive impact those companies have made for people is what keeps her coming back for more.

  • Having conversations with your partner

Resources:

Show Notes:

One superpower that has always served us well over our lifetimes is being nimble. It’s led to windfalls, business success, healthy relationships, and more. When you see someone who, from the outside, appears to always be winning, what you’re really seeing is someone who’s not afraid to adapt when their idea is failing.

So why is being nimble so hard for people? Because it’s not comfortable. You have to take a lot of risks and make a lot of gambles in order to stay nimble. When you truly embrace being nimble, it actually takes the risk out of those gambles. When your gamble falls through, if you just stay nimble, you’ll move on to the next move quickly.

Being nimble allows you to seize opportunities. If you’re stuck on one way of being for too long, who knows what you could be missing out on? You have to be clear on your long-term vision, make sure everyone affected is on the same page as you, and then take aggressive action to secure the future you want. I promise you, this superpower can make amazing things happen.
