On my run this morning something triggered my memory back to when I was in the fitness world but hadn’t started doing self-development work. I was binge eating and telling myself stories about why I wasn't good enough to do this work. I knew I had greatness inside of me, but I didn’t know what shape or form I would share it in. I put a training program on my credit card and showed up at that event so freaked out, but it totally paid off. Now I’ve created a 5-day workshop called EventLuv to teach the next generation of speakers, leaders and teachers how to create transformational experiences. The event is in January 2020 and the Earlybird price ends September 30. We’ll cover so many things including:

In second grade Chase Jarvis loved doing stand-up comedy and produced a weekly comic book strip. Then one day at the parent teacher conference he overheard his teacher telling his mom that he was so much better at sports than he was at art. Because we gravitate to where we get rewarded, he became an athlete, went to college on a soccer scholarship and made the Olympic Development Program soccer team. Then, a week before Chase graduated college, his grandfather died from a heart attack and left Chase his cameras. Chase started teaching himself how to take pictures and that led to his career as one of the most influential photographers of the past decade, the developer of the first photo app to share images to social networks and the founder of CreativeLive. Now Chase is on a mission to break down myths about what creativity is and who can practice it. He says that when we look at all the decisions we make every day - what you're going to have for dinner, what business that you're going to build - as creative acts, that’s when we understand that we have the agency to create our lives.
Question Highlights:
Guest Bio:
Chase Jarvis is an award-winning artist, entrepreneur, and one of the most influential photographers of the past decade.
He has created campaigns for Apple, Nike, Red Bull and others, was a contributor to the Pulitzer-winning New York Times story Snowfall, and earned an Emmy nomination for his documentary Portrait of a City. He also created Best Camera--the first photo app to share images to social networks, and is the Founder of CreativeLive, where more than 10 million students learn photography, video, design, music and business from the world's top creators and entrepreneurs.
He's a keynote speaker, an advisor to Fortune 100 brands, and has been a guest at the Obama White House, the United Nations, the Library of Congress, 10 Downing Street, Buckingham Palace, and the DIFC in Dubai.

Today I’m talking about making decisions. To actually make a decision you have to put skin in the game, say no to things and schedule your calendar so that it’s aligned with your dreams. Lately I've been fierce about making sure that I have room in my calendar for all of my new projects. And I am so proud of myself because, looking back at last year, I had a calendar full of things that I didn't necessarily want to do. I was more reacting to life than actually taking time to think if it was something that would move the needle forward. I was doing things because I didn't want to say no and hurt people's feelings. But you have to say no to things in order to create space for your dreams. I hope today’s quickie serves as a reminder or way for you to be able to get back to the heart-centered reason of WHY you’re working on your dreams.

Awesome content! This is actually the first podcast I’ve ever heard, as a friend in LA told me how great it is, so glad I found it! Got into podcasting more than listening to music as I drive around for work projects. Your guests are great and inspiring as well and I’ve listened to a few of theirs as well. Your messages are so relatable and a lot I needed to hear at times, it really is all about mindset which leads to happiness. I will definitely be at the 2020 Bliss Project, getting my ticket soon :) Thank you! -Ashley

Today I’m talking all about the excuses we use to stop ourselves moving forward. I don’t know how and I can’t is a choice. I used to be addicted to believing that everything I needed in order to bust through was outside of me. But really I was too afraid to move forward. I didn't want to do the hard work. I didn't want to leave my shit friends behind because they were familiar. I didn’t know who I was without my anxiety. It’s possible to break out of being stuck in the life we tolerate but don’t love. And a lot of times that starts with just one nice word to yourself, or saying a prayer, or asking for help. I hope today’s quickie serves as a reminder or way for you to be able to get back to the heart-centered reason of WHY you’re working on your dreams.

Dr. Morgan Francis joins me to talk about cultivating self-love, particularly in the face of diet culture and a societal obsession with external appearance. Dr. Morgan spent years trying to avoid the pain of her brother’s death when she was a teenager and one of the ways she did this was by developing an eating disorder. She says she knew there was a problem when she was out on a date and she could not even pay attention to what he was saying because bread had been put on the table. Now she is a therapist and runs an online course for women looking to improve their body image.
Question Highlights:
Guest Bio:
Dr. Morgan Francis is a Doctor of Clinical Psychology, a licensed mental health therapist and the owner of Scottsdale Premier Counseling. Her mission is to break through the mental health shame game. For too long society has been embracing diet culture and pushing you to believe how you look is not good enough. No matter how thin or fit you look, you cannot outrun the pressures that surround you because the transformation of loving and appreciating your body happens internally, not externally. Dr. Francis’ online courses on body image and self-love will help you to take back your life.

Today’s episode is all about getting comfortable with fear and failure. These are the only things that are stopping you from living your biggest dream and living out the gifts that God gave you. And when you don’t live your biggest dream, you're stopping the person who you're meant to help from getting the help that they need. You are literally cutting off their lifeline because that message is meant to come through you. Write down what you’re afraid of to see how ridiculous your thoughts are. Are you scared that your opinionated friend Becky is going to say something on Instagram? Are you scared that your moms’ group is going to say, who do you think you are? Are you scared that your husband or ex-boyfriend will say you're failing again? I want you to literally ask pain and fear to bring it on because you can handle it. Pain and the failure is where all of the learning and value is. Bring it on. You can do hard things, you can handle hard things. You can handle feedback, you can handle criticism. You choose if you're going to get taken down or you get back up but every time you get back up, you get stronger, you grow a muscle. I hope today’s quickie serves as a reminder or way for you to be able to get back to the heart-centered reason of WHY you’re working on your dreams.
