She can be found teaching yoga and coaching workshops around the country as well as leading international teacher trainings. Rosie is also a proud ambassador for Yoga Journal, City Silence, Manduka, and Living Yoga.
She has used her experience teaching her day to day students working in her community and has worked with elite Olympic athletes, NFL Champions, NBA All-Stars, At Risk Youth and Afghanistan Veterans. Most recently, she is working on a book about Yoga and Meditation. As Rosie mentions in her bio, she was raised in East LA in the 90’s. As you may not know, that was a high-time for gang violence in Los Angeles.
“Reading and researching back to that time, there were about 450-500 different gangs around my area. I was raised in an environment of fear. Hearing gun shots daily, was a very normal thing.”
Not only growing up in the pure neighborhood chaos, but Rosie was also personally raised in an alcoholic household. Not knowing at the time of course, but all of which has turned her into an insanely independent, radical human being! She takes us back to her days of stressful events, anxiety-ridden habits and her depressed surroundings. Like most of the kids/teens her age in the area, Rosie got caught up in drugs and alcohol, skipping class and unethical behavior.
“I was quickly becoming a product of my environment.”
At the young age of 6, Rosie witnessed her first drive by shooting. Having to self-regulate to calm her nerves, she reminisces on how she remembered her breathing technique in that moment and how it soon became a part of her daily habits. Having developed anxiety and panic attacks, this breathing-form became a norm…rapidly. Fast forwarding into her late-teens/early 20’s, Rosie took it upon herself to get healthy. No extra “push” no pressure, just the shear desire to be better.
“A friend of mine suggested I run a marathon, but I hated running. I thought to myself 'The only time I remember running, was away from something…most likely the authority.'”
Going to school full-time, working full-time and indulging herself, headfirst into yoga teacher training, Rosie was a busy young girl to say the least. Rosie’s whirl-wind background is extremely inspiring and powerful. She has made something out of nothing, and continues to go above and beyond in her life and work.
“We are all born with limitless potential, we all have a place in this world, it is part of our journey to be radically curious, radically inspired and be radically loved.”
