In This Episode You Will Learn About:

  • The light and dark within us
  • Which one are we feeding?
  • The transition to feeding the light

Resources:

Show Notes:

Today I’m talking about the duality of the light and the dark that we all have inside of us. It is so important to accept and understand that both are part of you, and help make you who you are deep down. This is what makes us human! In a book that I’ve been reading, the author brought up a story that served as a really beautiful reminder that while yes, we do have that light and dark with us, the one that shows up most often is the one that we feed.

Last year, even though incredible, was a year of burnout for me. I’m excited to say that I’m starting to feel like I’m back in my groove, and I’ve really found power in saying no. Saying no isn’t necessarily because I don’t want to do something, but because I want to create more space. Creating space takes work! Often times, setting these boundaries actually feels like you’re doing the wrong thing because you aren’t doing what others are doing. Today, I’m getting real and honest about what this space looks like and what you need to do in order to prepare for the next steps in your life and business.

Today’s quickie is a special one because I am sitting down with James Purpura, the co-founder and CEO of Powerful U, a personal evolution company with the goal to inspire people to tap into their potential. James’s story is a beautiful one of incredible transformation, growth, and perseverance, and I can’t wait for you to listen in on the conversation we have today. Chris and I will be speaking at the Powerful U conference, and have an amazing ticket price for all of our listeners– you don’t want to miss this one!

James and Steph’s journey of transformation is nothing short of extraordinary. Before they met 15 years ago, both of their lives had hit rock bottom. They were both financially, emotionally, and spiritually bankrupt. Life had beaten them down and shattered their self-esteem. At the lowest point in their lives, they met and were united by a shared vision of creating and becoming more. They started the only place they could by working on themselves and helping each other grow. They believed in each other but more importantly, they challenged each other every step of the way, and never settled.

Shortly after meeting, Steph wrote James’ first resume and taught him how to send an email. This began James’ unlikely career in technology. Around this time, they also started a family. Fast forward fifteen years, after many ups and downs and a lot of hard work, Steph and James recently sold their tech company, one of the world’s largest construction software companies. They now have five beautiful children and live an extraordinary life. Through this journey of self-creation, they developed a personal philosophy centered around perception. They believe perception, more than any other factor, will determine how someone’s life will turn out. James and Steph started Powerful U as their way to give back to the world. They believe that through the knowledge they accumulated on their journey they can help others live the life they desire. Their dream is to bring personal development to the masses by making it affordable and readily available to all seekers.

Question 1: @amandajoy_0: “Hello, hope all is well! I have a question or topic I would love for you to address on your podcast. When it seems things are going well according to plan, and you’re making progress, and that positive breakthrough might happen, why does it not work out? It feels like the rug is constantly being pulled from underneath me. How do you deal, and what do you do to return back to that positive mindset and know when something great will work out?”

Question 2: @westcoast_baygirl: “Is it okay to want a friend reset? I moved to a small town and surrounded myself with unlike people to keep myself company; I feel bad but I want more like-minded friends. Is that normal, or am I just a bitch?”

I first “met” today’s guest on Instagram, during a time when I so much needed to hear her beautiful message. Sarah Nicole Reynolds joins me on today’s episode, and we are talking all things forgiveness and freeing yourself! Not too long ago, Sarah Nicole embarked in a journey to better her life, losing 100 pounds, working through inner dialogue, and finding value within herself. Today, she helps others see and understand their worth, love their bodies, feel less alone in the world, and be ok with life's little shakeups.

Question Highlights:

  • Can you give us a few tips on what shutting it down and walking away actually looks like?
  • What’s a question you find people ask you the most?
  • What do you wish people would ask you more?
  • How did you decide to make this work your business?
  • Do you have any advice for those who want to monetize their brand, but don’t know where to start?
  • What has been one of the biggest lessons that you’ve learned?
  • How are you going to plan for your next explosive growth?

Sarah Nicole is a badass mama of 3 who likes to hype herself up in bios while talking in the third person. 5 years ago she embarked on a journey to get out of life's ruts and better her life. She lost 100lbs and went through massive life change with a divorce pushing her into new chapter of single motherhood. But like, a badass chapter. Since then, she met this bearded guy and he drank her poison and asked her to marry him. So she locked that down quickly and now they rock the whole chosen family thing! After struggling to find love for her body after losing all that weight, she worked through a lot of inner dialogues to discover the value and meaning behind self-love - and well, she thinks it's worth sharing about. By using social media as her journal, she loves helping others see and understand their worth, love their bodies, feel less alone in the world, and be ok with life's little shakeups.

Today I’m sharing how fear has held me back, and how I’m now using it as a positive tool to live the life I know I deserve. (And how you can, too!)

In This Episode You Will Learn About:

  • Old default responses that lead to negotiating with yourself
  • The 80/20 rule
  • The need for perfection
  • Discipline habits
  • Stopping the internal arguments

Show Notes

Today I want to take some time to talk about something really important: the space between where you are and where you want to go. Each step of the process within this space is so different; from thinking about what you want, to planning what you want, creating a habit, and beyond. A lot of people, myself included, tend to get caught in this space and find themselves negotiating with their goals rather than working towards them. This episode intention is to help you recognize where you are negotiating with yourself, and inspire you to continue to push the needle in the direction of your goals.
