When you’re at an event and you notice that someone is clearly not having a good time, what’s your reaction? If you’re anything like I used to be, you would take yourself out of the fun and try and shift that person’s energy, solve their problems, and ultimately, bring your own mood down. This might be a major wakeup call for some of you who don’t even realize that you’re doing this and fall into patterns of feeling responsible for other people’s emotions. When you start to take full ownership over your own feelings and reactions, that is one of the most powerful places that you can be in. This is a lifetime practice, but I’m sharing some tips on how I’ve been able to implement this in my life and the major changes that I’ve seen as a result of shifting out of my people-pleasing tendencies.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Why you can only be responsible for your own emotions and reactions
  • What tends to happen when you try to control the energy in a room
  • How to be friendly while also maintaining your boundaries
  • Reflecting on why you might fall into these patterns
  • Overcoming the potential discomfort that can come with this practice

We’ve been getting alot of DMs about how we keep track of and organize our ideas, plans, and projects. Lauren and I are diving in on the tech systems that we use, how we prioritize tasks, and why we keep things as simple and user-friendly as possible. It might surprise people to hear that we rely on Google Drive for just about everything, but Lauren is a master at building out progress trackers and dashboards that keep everyone dialed in on what they need to be doing. She also is great at keeping tabs on bigger-picture items. I share how I personally organize the notes section on my phone, and why it’s so important to sit with your ideas for a little bit instead of sharing every single thought with your team. We also highlight why it’s so important to niche down and start with a very focused vision, even when you have big dreams for your company.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Figuring out which ideas are worth pursuing, and which ones can be put on the back burner
  • How we keep track of contacts who have offered help or a favor in the past
  • Learning how to become more organized as an ideator
  • Our flagging process with emails
  • Limiting distractions within our workflows and systems
  • Integrating Simon Sinek’s Start With Why approach
  • Simplifying our opt-in plan

Chris and I had this moment on our walk through our new neighborhood in Newport where we realized that we’re building the life that we always dreamed of. We want to share the formula that we’ve used to get here, and even though it’ll look different for everyone, these tips can help you get to where you want to be no matter where that is. Not only do you have to have outlandish and legacy-building dreams, but you have to surround yourself with people who have the same mindset. You’re going to bump up against family and friends who think that you’re going against their lifestyle, but it’s important to remind yourself that you’re becoming the best version of yourself. You also have to be willing to make investments that stretch you, whether it’s in yourself through programs and mentors, or your finances through stocks and assets.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • What we do to keep our dreams alive everyday
  • The struggles of going against family patterns
  • Addressing people who told us we were getting caught up in the ‘California lifestyle’
  • Choosing to hold yourself to higher standards and bigger dreams
  • Why you can’t reach your goals by playing it safe

There’s one thing that I’ve been able to pinpoint as a thread throughout all my success and any of the larger amounts of money that I've been able to make: I put myself into the rooms where the conversation was happening, where the bigger money was being made, and where the other people were winning. Whether it was fitness competitions, network marketing, selling personal development courses, and now launching Lite Pink, it’s all because I surrounded myself with people who would push me to pursue my big dreams. I share my journey to getting into those expansive rooms and what you need to be talking about when you get yourself in front of people who are making moves.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • What inspired me to sign up for the Cathy Savage training camp back when I wanted to be in fitness competitions
  • Leaning on your support system
  • Having real, open conversations about income
  • How I got into network marketing
  • What made it possible for me to even think about creating a beverage company
  • My approach to getting a second book deal

If you could set up your work schedule and environment however you wanted, what would that look like? I feel so lucky that Lauren and I are aligned with our workflows and are able to maximize our energy, prioritize self care, and still make major progress with building Lite Pink. We discuss some things that people can do if they want to have a conversation with their boss about creating a more flexible and non-traditional routine, and also what to do if you’re an entrepreneur. It can be so easy to burn out and feel resentful when it feels like you’re working 24/7, but there are ways to find a better work-life balance that will help you reach your goals without constantly sacrificing what makes you happy.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Changing your workflow with the seasons
  • Making sure that you’re taking care of yourself
  • Pitching your ideal workflow to a manager or boss
  • Addressing your higher-up’s fears about changing up your work routine
  • How I’ve become more productive by switching up where I’m getting work done
  • A time in my life when I felt super overwhelmed and knew I needed to change my business strategy

Chris and I were reflecting on how we keep investing in these amazing opportunities, and we realized that there are three key things that are helping us make that happen. We’re at a place now where we can recognize a money-making opportunity when we see it, we both have something strategic to offer, and we’re planting seeds to get connected with businesses that are within our zone of genius. We choose to look at everything as an opportunity to increase our wealth and capitalize on our skills. Listen in to learn more about how you can do the same.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Tapping into what you have to offer to other people
  • The win-win of using affiliate links
  • Examples of how we’ve cut ourselves into really cool investment opportunities
  • Building your skillset and network so that you can play a role in every opportunity that comes your way

  • Letting go of perfectionism
  • What Cynthia learned in the book writing process

A lot of people say that time is the most valuable commodity, but I actually think that energy is more important. I talk about the difference between people who are sprinters vs. marathoners when it comes to getting work done, why I think it’s important to reminage what ‘9-to-5’ looks like for you, and how to make sure you’re working in your zone of genius. Listen in for some simple ways to replenish your energy and get back on track!

Social media ads and traditional PR can be so expensive these days that you have to think outside the box when it comes to getting your name out there, especially as a startup. Lauren and I share ten creative ways that we’re using to get people talking about Lite Pink. We discuss why we love text lists, creating opt-ins for Earn Your Happy listeners, and why I decided to write a book while simultaneously launching Lite Pink. I talk about where I see alot of early entrepreneurs get stuck and why it’s more important to just put something out there instead of constantly tinkering with it until it’s ‘perfect.’ Lauren and I also touch on how we’re working on overcoming negative self-talk and constantly comparing ourselves to other brands who seem to have it all figured out. Note to self: no one actually does!

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Recharging on a girls trip in Napa
  • Getting strategic about a podcast tour to reach adjacent audiences
  • Utilizing text lists for R&D
  • The importance of tangible in-person experiences
  • The crossovers and differences between my personal brand and Lite Pink
  • What we’re most excited about when it comes to launching an app
  • Getting into the TikTok space
  • Accepting that you can’t excel at everything

Chris and I have noticed this big cultural shift from the hustle and grind mindset to letting things flow and take their natural course. Which one is better? Like most things, I think it’s best to exist somewhere in the middle of the two extremes. We talk about learning how to hustle with boundaries, giving yourself at least one day a week to be present, and practicing intentional planning. There are moments and seasons when you’re going to have to give it your all, but recognize that you and your team need time to recharge afterwards. Chris and I share how we’ve found the balance of hustle and flow and our advice for avoiding burnout as an entrepreneur.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Figuring out what moves the needle and what’s not worth your energy
  • Maintaining your morning routine during a busy season
  • The massive, exhausting hustle that’s behind every accomplishment
  • Why you need to make your decision and then release it
  • What we do to rest and recover after a launch

Jordan is a national bestselling author, speaker, founder and CEO of the Own It Academy, and host of the top-rated SHE podcast. We touch on why it’s so important to lean into taking care of your well-being and get out of your bubble. I’ve definitely been guilty of deciding on something and then not fully committing to it, and let me tell you, it’s not a good feeling. Now, once I decide on something, I attach someone and something to it. I have an accountability partner and put my money where my mouth is, literally and figuratively. I’m sharing why making true commitments are so important and a few tools that I rely on when life comes at me and I’m really tempted to sell out my dream. If you know that deep down inside you’re not committed to something, it’s never going to happen. So, what’s stopping you?

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • The meaning of the word ‘decide’
  • Tony Robbins’ analogy for commitment that really resonates with me
  • Truly investing in your dreams and practicing integrity
  • Getting out of the instant gratification cycle
  • Why having an inner dialogue and coaching yourself actually helps and works

If nothing was considered unrealistic or impossible, what would you want out of life? This question came up in a book that I’m reading, The Rhythm of Life by Matthew Kelly, and Chris and I discuss exactly what our answers are to that question. We’ve been putting so much thought into what it means to build a life that we love and what needs to happen in order to achieve that. Really getting clear about your answer to this question will help support and guide you when making bold and scary dream-building decisions. We also talk about the importance of taking on challenges and knowing when to close the chapter of something that you’ve outgrown.

IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:

  • Why I was inspired to ask Chris what he wants out of life
  • What we’re ultimately working towards
  • How challenges make you happy
  • Income opportunities that we chose to leave because they didn’t stretch us anymore
  • An exciting charity dinner that you can get involved with

ABOUT KEITH

Keith Yackey is the founder and creator of MarriedGame.com. When his wife left him 5 years ago, he realized that he was the problem and that his wife was no longer attracted to him. Since getting her back, Keith has dedicated his life to teaching men how to get their wives to want to have sex with them again. By doing one simple thing, becoming the most attractive version of themselves.
