I’m the kind of person who likes certainty. I can eat the same thing every day, I can do the same workouts, and take the same walks—even if I know that’s not great for me. There are of course benefits to having routines and habits, but when you start feeling like you can’t survive without those rituals, it can start to force you into a rut. Whenever we’re making decisions, we tend to get stuck on one big fear: Making the wrong decision. You have to train yourself to believe that you can’t make a wrong decision, as crazy as it sounds. You won’t always make perfect decisions, but looking back you can always find value in whatever decision you’ve made, so don’t put so much pressure on yourself to have the perfect outcome when you can’t control the outcome.
